FRESH LOCAL FOOD
Supporting local business is important business. At the Shepherd we strive to use fresh, local and seasonal produce wherever possible. From small independent wine & beer suppliers to butchers and fruit and veg suppliers less than a mile away, only the best produce leaves the kitchen while helping the local economy. Even the rare Discovery apple tree originating from Langham on our lawn is put to good use, making everything from warming crumble to apple sauce.
BEER GARDEN
Enjoy the fresh air in the lovely fenced beer garden socialising over some food and drink.
A quaint mixture of comfortable tables, chairs and benches with parasols it’s perfect to relax, with a good chance of spotting the resident buzzards and other birds of prey.

OUR ROOMS
Nearing completion the Shepherd rooms will soon be ready to enjoy. Comprising of 3 ensuite rooms with king size beds, they will offer all the luxury and mod cons whilst encompassing the warm and inviting feeling found throughout the rest of the building.Ideally placed amongst popular tourist attractions, the Essex country side and just off the A12 they will be sure to prove popular for pleasure and business alike.Keep your eyes peeled

Offering a wide choice from our seasonal pub classics, a la carte & specials board you will find it hard to choose. Catering for all tastes and dietary requirements, let the team know when you book and we will take all the worry and fuss out of your experience.
Table service is provided in the bar and garden to, meaning you can dine where you feel most comfortable. The Shepherd is more than just a pub.

The Shepherd bar is a relaxed and friendly environment, where the locals meet to unwind and share tales and new visitors are welcomed with open arms.
Serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, stocking household favourites and lots of unique temptations for all tastes. The knowledgeable team will help you choose, and don’t forget to ask for a sample of our perfectly kept permanent and guest ales.
A WARM WELCOME
Our separate dining room nicknamed the “snug” is perfect for a quieter dining experience, and private functions.
Seating up to 24 for sit down meals and 30 plus for buffets it is ideal for a variety of needs from birthday parties, wakes, christenings, staff parties and many more.
Now with the use of a 50” Smart T.V. that connects to laptops and USB it is perfect for corporate meetings, lunches and dinners.

Wow.. We popped along to The Sheperd on Saturday evening for dinner with friend's.

A great selection of beers, ales, wine & fizz at reasonable prices.
The food was way above your average pub food. Presentation was oustanding so hat's off to the chefs. Waiting staff were friendly & so nice that they know about the food that they're serving.
